About

I'm Jenny,  a wife, a mother, a teacher & a  budding textile artist.  I live in Sydney, Australia, &  love all things textile related.

My journey through this textile world began with genes from both my grandmothers & my mother. I was knitting, crocheting, stitching & using a sewing machine before I turned 9. I knitted clothes for my dolls,
& crocheted doilies for my dressing table. This is the first doiley I ever made, I was about 10 I think, & only needled a little help from my Mum to complete it.

I sewed endless lines on my Mum's old treadle machine, & by the time I was 12,  I was cutting & making garments for myself with little help from anyone. In high school I was the one checking everyone else's cutting layouts. By the age of 15 I was sewing for other people.

I moved to Sydney to continue to study, enrolling in a TAFE fashion course where I was exposed to all kinds of needlecrafts, home furnishings, millinery, patternmaking, tailoring as well as garment making. Teachers college followed.

In later years I have joined the Embroiderer's Guild of NSW, The Australian Lace Guild, & the Australian Sewing Guild. All groups have given me a wealth of knowledge and dearest friends.

My journey through this textile world is fuelled by my inner passion, my dearest friends, and my students.
